Gosia Kamieniecka is Polish-born, Ireland-based visual artist whose practice traverses painting, drawing, digital art and sound. A graduate of Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology(GMIT) with a BA in fine arts, she developed a multidisciplinary foundation that continues to inform her diverse and evolving work. Her art engages with themes of presence, perception, and transformastion, unfolding through both conceptual and observational lenses.
Kamieniecka’s artistic journey moves fluidly across diverse stylistic territories—from geometric abstraction in her earlier series, through symbolist and surrealist explorations in mixed media, to a more recent focus on figurative realism, particularly within her intricate pencil studies of botanical forms. Her practice navigates the space between abstraction and realism: on one end, bold shapes and layered composition; on the other, delicately rendered florals that evoke a sense of intimacy and stillness. A consistent figurative thread runs throughout Gosia's work - depicting people, animals, and flora - always grounded in her own original imagery. Occasional symbolic motifs and unexpected juxtapositions suggest emotional undercurrents and deeper philosophical reflections. Whether working in textured oils and acrylics or graphite on paper, Kamieniecka merges technical refinement with an intuitive sensitivity, producing work that rewards both quiet reflection and formal analysis. She has also been involved in music, an experience that contributes to the breadth of her creative expression. From 2013 to 2025, Gosia was a member of Artspace Studios Galway and now works from her home studio in County Clare. Her work has been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions across Ireland and is held in private collections throughout Europe and the United States. She is a member of the GortArt collective. |
